When you’re here, you’re family.

Welcome to the Hofmeister Family Dentistry blog! Jamie and I plan to use this space to share our thoughts as business owners, partners, parents, clinicians, problem solvers, and all the other hats we wear on a daily basis. I can’t promise that it will all be dental related :)

Jamie and I have been together for most of our lives. We went to middle school together. We went to high school together (where we started dating). We went to college together. We moved in together and got married and started a family. We pretty much do everything together (except golf and reality television). In 2019, when Mark (Jamie’s father) was more seriously considering retiring, Jamie and I started to discuss buying his practice. In early 2020, we got to the point of securing financing. And then in March 2020, the world shut down. Jamie continued to work at the dental practice with Mark. But we put our plans of purchasing the practice on hold as our attention narrowed to the more immediate concerns of the moment.

As we slowly figured out how to navigate those uncertain and scary times, the idea of owning our own business regained momentum. And in April 2021, we officially purchased the practice and transitioned ownership from Mark to Jamie (which is a simple sentence to write but an extremely complex process to complete). We knew immediately what type of business we wanted to run. Mark had already laid the foundation for it (going all the way back to 1987). We wanted to treat our patients and staff like family. Dental care is hard. And a mouth is a really sensitive and vulnerable part of the body. There are a lot of people that are scared of coming to the dentist. We think we can help, regardless of circumstance or past experience. We strive to make our patients feel at home. And we couldn’t be more excited to do that in this community here in Bartlett, Illinois.
